2003-2004

Topline Analysis, LLC: Working with Wall Street legend Gideon Gartner (founder of Gartner Group, Giga Information Group, and Soundview Technology), we developed new concepts for research reports. Topline offered these reports for pay, serving micro-caps that lacked sell-side analyst coverage. Unique areas included: 

Multi-Dimensional Revenue Breakdown: We provided greater transparency regarding revenue sources, by investigating growth along geography, constituency, line of business, and other dimensions. This resulted in unique forecasts in a novel and easy-to-read format. 

Qualitative Assessments of Risks and Opportunities: SEC filings always list standard components of risk (e.g. competition, currency, key persons) but our new graphical representation enabled analysts to communicate visually the relative prominence of each issue for each company. 

Company Responses: Our reports provided special areas for clients to respond to analyst opinions with both comments side-by-side. This gave readers a variety of views, in one place, and diminished the risk of editorial influence from paying clients. 

In 2004 we ceased operations due to extensive competition from established Wall Street firms.
